Kevin Tarpey is in his first season as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Stetson University. His primary areas of coverage will be the Stetson softball and cross country programs.
Tarpey comes to Stetson from Russell Sage College, where he first served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and later as Head Athletic Trainer.
In his short time with the Gators, Tarpey made a tremendous impact with the department and the athletic training area. His tasks included managing weekly on-campus doctor's clinic, as well as managing student-athletes’ secondary health insurance claims. Tarpey also managed and facilitated the department-wide practice calendar as well as the daily athletic trainer coverage calendar for all practices and games. He also implemented new electronic medical record system as well as the department’s new electronic concussion screening protocol.
A 2016 graduate of SUNY Cortland, Tarpey worked two years at nearby University at Albany, where he was a graduate assistant in the sports medicine department. While at UAlbany, Tarpey also earned his Master’s degree in Educational Policy and Leadership, while covering the Great Danes’ women’s volleyball and baseball programs.
Prior to his time in Albany, he worked as an undergraduate assistant at SUNY Cortland, working with the men's lacrosse, men's soccer, field hockey and wrestling teams. He also assisted at LeMoyne College, working with the Dolphins’ men's soccer team.
Tarpey is a member of NATA and is up to date on First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
